“Simon Bull’s love of colour can be seen in this early study of a bend in  the river Wharfe at Bolton Abbey, Yorkshire, England.  Bolton Abbey is actually a priory founded on the river  in 1151 by the Augustinian Canons.  The original nave of the church is still used and is popular for weddings.  Today the estate is owned by the Duke of Devonshire.”
