"A few years ago my sister Rosemary asked me to paint her a beautiful red heart painting to hang above her bed. It took me a while before I got around to doing it and the day it was finished someone walked into the studio and asked to buy it. I was torn between an opportunity and an obligation but finally decided I could soon paint another. So I sold the heart and painted another. The paint was still wet when the second heart sold, so I had to keep on painting, since in a few days time Rosemary was coming to collect her work of art. Every heart I painted sold immediately and I received orders for more. I knew love ruled the world but was taken back by the strength of feeling for this universal symbol. My sister finally received her hearts, in fact I painted her two and it is these that I now offer to you as prints, from my heart to yours." - Simon Bull- About the Artist |
